Dessert Wedding Favors

I always like practical wedding favors, and edible ones are twice as great. Have you considered sending your guests off with a couple delectable desserts? Stop by your favorite bakery and choose a variety of dessert that are favorites for you and your fiance. Remember you should take advantage of every opportunity to incorporate your personalities into your wedding.

Consider setting up a dessert table at your wedding, possibly one that could be rolled in towards the end of the evening so that guests don't start eating the favors early. Have the MC or DJ announce that the guests can help themselves to the dessert tables.

Have the table filled with all types of delectable bite sized desserts. You should include boxes or bags filled with tissue paper and ready for packing. Take this opportunity to use personalized labels and tags in your wedding colors on the boxes or bags. Use coordinating ribbon, my favorite ribbons for favors are satin, cross grained and organza.

To save money consider choosing one type of dessert such as Cookies or brownies. You can get cookies in all shapes and sizes. Brownies are not just made of chocolate anymore, they come in a variety of sizes, shapes and flavors.

Bed and Breakfast Weddings and Honeymoons

When I think of a Bed and Breakfast setting, I think of a romantic getaway to an intimate location; casual and unplanned days of relaxation. Ever thought of bringing that feeling to your wedding? Well as I sat and thought about it I thought I would do some research. Here is what I found:

I came across the BNBfinder. It is an in depth directory of Bed and Breakfast locations all over the world. They also sell B and B Finder certificates accepted at over 1500 Inns all over the world. You could consider adding these certificates to your wedding registry. Here are a few of the Inns listed.

Alexander Homestead

The Alexander Homestead is an all-inclusive full service Inn located within Charlotte City limits. It a historical jewel listed in the National Registry. Recently restored and renovated it sits on a five acre estate. The bed and breakfast boast a peaceful and tranquil experience in their Historic Queen Ann Victorian style house.

This location would be great for an intimate getaway or honeymoon. If planning a wedding keep in mind that it is definitely geared for a more intimate wedding, accommodates only about 40 guests. If you are using this as a destination wedding please call ahead to make sure all of your guests can be accommodated. This location is not geared for children. A full gourmet breakfast is served to guests each morning of their stay in the dining room. There are a host of activities that you can participate in or not. Please contact them to see if this location will fit you wedding needs.

Prospect Hill Plantation Inn & Restaurant

I was drawn to this location for its size and because the have a wedding coordinator. The fact that they have a designated individual just to assist you with your wedding plans is a great start to a beautiful destination weekend.

The Prospect Hill Plantation Inn & Restaurant is one of the most distinctive bed and breakfast inns in Charlottesville, Virginia. Located on a picturesque property it is the perfect setting for a Charlottesville, Virginia wedding. The backdrop of With flower gardens, meadows and a pond, will be great for wedding photos.

The Inn offers thirteen fireplace rooms and suites, most with Jacuzzis, and an irresistible array of amenities in a quiet setting on 50 acres of grounds, fields, and woods. They can hosts wedding receptions for up to 200 guests.

Casa Lima

I was born in San Jose, CR. I have been in the US for many years but still enjoy the memories of this beautiful place. Known as the "Switzerland" of Central America because it has no army, it has become on of the most popular vacation destination.

Casa Lima is listed as a small paradise. Located 20 minutes from the airport an 10 minutes from downtown San Jose, and two blocks from the American Embassy. Casa Lima is a small exclusive Costa Rica bed and breakfast nestled in one of Costa Rica's unique and privileged neighborhoods, Rohrmoser. and two blocks from the American Embassy. It offers the perfect strategic location when visiting the Central Valley and exploring. It has 20 bedrooms, 3 suites. 3 apartments. This Bed and Breakfast offers tours to nearby Volcanoes and rainforest.

Beach Weddings

Beach weddings are fun. You basically have a blank canvas to work with. Usually couples choose a blue and white or blue and sand color scheme. However, with a beach wedding the "color waves" you ride are endless.

Creating your own bridal Style!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you ever look through a bridal magazine and see several dresses that you wish you could combine to create one. Maybe you wished that if you could just change one particular feature of a dress it would be perfect. I found your solution.

Design your own dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On my web surfing expedition I came across a site Kathlin Argiro. This site allows you choose the silhouette you want for your bridesmaids dresses, select from a number of different fabrics and add your own accessories.

I thought that this company had something going, after going through their site you will not feel you sacrificed one aspect of a dress to get another. The color choices are unbelievable, all the newest fabrics and textures to choose from. I wish I had this option when I was getting married. You could use this site for selecting bridesmaid dress or dresses for other pre-wedding parties.

Dresses can be ordered through them directly or through a specialty boutique near you. They ask that if you have already started to work with a boutique, that you continue to place your order through them.

To order from them directly, please print the appropriate forms for you and your girls. Fill them in, and fax them back, together with your payment. If you have any questions, please call them at 212.268.8774 or
email info@kathlinargiro.com.

ETSY Fabulous Find: Moment in the Sun

Sometimes the way a wedding favor is packaged is as exciting as the favor itself. While on my weekly Etsy expedition I came across Moment in the Sun. Tracey owner of this fabulous shop, has a little bit of everything. However, I would like to focus on her large selection of paper products.

Are you planning on giving out CD favors at your wedding, well don't select any old packaging for your favor. Check out these CD/DVD envelopes in a variety of styles and colors. Handcrafted from heavyweight cardstock, I could see them wrapped with organza ribbons for a perfect favor presentation. Set of 4 CD/DVD envelopes, each envelope is 5" or 13cm square, tab close. Add a monogrammed round label to the closure for a personalized touch. Your CD envelopes can be customized with a "Thank you" rub on at no additional charge. Just wonderful!!!!

I absolutely love these for a favor boxes. She has a variety of colors, however these were my favorite; I just pictured them for a spring wedding. These boxes can be use for your wedding favors or for presenting your bridesmaids with a thank you gift.

Black Tie anyone? try these appropriately named "Tuxedo Heart Box"

These beautiful tags would be great for favors, seating cards or table numbers. Print clear or opaque round labels with names, table numbers or "thank you" and place on the back of each tag. Simply stunning flower gift tags in spring green and chocolate brown with a hint of robins egg blue. Chocolate and blue flowers grace the front of the tags, while the tag backs are a beautiful tone on tone green damask. Other colors and styles available.

With 158 products listed in her shop they could not all be featured here, check out Etsy shop, Moment in the Sun for great paper products and more

The Bare Essentials: Wedding undergarments

You have labored over the details of your wedding. You have purchased your dream dress. You spent hundreds even thousands on your gown, a pantie line under that gorgeous mermaid style gown would be a travesty. We want your wedding to be the talk of the town for your fine attention to detail and unique touches, not the fact that you wore the wrong underwear.

Selecting the right undergarments for your gown is as important as the gown itself.

Sphanx.com knows the importance of your undergarments. They have gone as far as identifying specific product selections based on the fabrics of the dress you will be wearing.

With the popularity of strapless gowns the Slim Cognito Seamless Mid-Thigh Bodysuit would be a great match.

This Hide & Sleek Strapless Lace Trim Cami from the Hide and Sleek collection would also be great for a strapless gown.

You will know best which trouble spots you want to hide or accentuate, check out Sphanx.com to view all of their collections.

Check out the Barenecessities.com for great and very sexy wedding undergarments.

Most recently I have had the pleasure of meeting Amanda owner of Etsy shop Dawn Correspondence an Etsy shop, what a lovely combination.

Are you planning a wedding in paradise?

This a Gorgeous wedding invitation in a square petal that fits perfectly in a 5.75" square envelope. The 3.5" x 5" reply card fits inside the petal.

I love the color of this invitation. Your wedding invitation is the first element used to set the theme for your wedding. To be ushered into your wedding in paradise by this invitation is simply awesome.

Mums the word

I love the combination of purple and red on this invitation. I would love to use this color combination for a new spin of a fall or winter wedding. Nice warm colors.

Choosing your wedding colors

Choosing your wedding colors is a decision that will affect many other to come. A lot of the vendors that you will meet will ask you about your color selections. I actually believe that florist ask about your color before they ask you about your favorite flower. The bakery where you will get your cake from will ask about the colors that you have chosen for your wedding. Your color selection will allow your wedding professional to offer you the best direction.

Help us help you!!!!

For some choosing the color for their wedding is an easy decision, they always loved pink, we are both football fans and our favorite team’s colors are blue and white. Whatever inspirited your color choice, this will be an easy task crossed off from your “wedding to-do list” . For some it will be a little harder, since your wedding will reflect your personal style, making your color selection work is very important.

If I have no clue what color I want for my wedding where do I start? Well what inspires you? When you see a room decorated in a picture, are you drawn to lighter (cool) colors or intense (warmer) colors? Do you like a neutral background? What makes you say wow? Inspiration can come from fashion, interior design, nature. Do you love the beach? Maybe a light (cool) blue and tan might work for you, reminding you of the ocean and sand. Maybe you like fall, like me, and so greens and browns and oranges make you feel happy. These are great starting points.

Here are some great locations to find the right color combinations for you:

Color Schemer

You'll need to create a free account, but this wonderful site has to create color palettes and search for other palettes already created. Time to remember your favorite season, enter in the search box for inspiration, i.g , Fall (can you tell fall is my favorite season. How about a catchy adjectives like peaceful or modern.

Sherwin-Williams Color Generator

After finding a color it selects accent colors to go with it.

I found a great blog that has shown me some color combinations I would have never thought of, that are simply phenomenal. Check out The Perfect Palette

I actually love Bridalcanvas.com it allows you to bring different elements together and you could create color boards that inspire you and others.

Be Inspired by everything around you when choosing your wedding colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!
